If you want to drive traffic to your website, there are two main ways to do it and you should really cover both bases.
The first is that you need to optimize your website for SEO, making sure it is compatible with mobile devices.
You need a good user experience.
In addition, you should use some of the social sites that can be really useful for sending traffic to your site.
Reddit is one of those sites that will help you increase traffic to your site along with Quora and Pinterest.
From time to time, a new source of traffic becomes fashionable.
It’s like finding a new oil tank. For a while, it’s kept it a secret, but as soon as it was released, everyone wants a piece of it.
Reddit has become the last oil deposit.
Marketing specialists around the world are trying to take advantage of the huge platform to create brand awareness and drive traffic to their websites.
For example, Ryan Luedecke was able to use Reddit to generate $ 2,200 in revenue for his new dried meat company.
But for every Ryan, there are many more who don’t seem to understand how to harness the power of Reddit.
The good news is that it is not as difficult … at least not as difficult as everyone else does.
This article will cover How to generate huge traffic to my blog/website from Reddit and will provide some ideas on how you can use Reddit more effectively.
How To Drive Massive Traffic From Reddit
Keep it relevant
If you want to get large amounts of Reddit traffic, keep your posts very relevant to users.
This means that the more you adapt your posts to the subreddit in which you are publishing, the better. Avoid posting content that serves a wide audience.
This requires you to do a little research on your subreddit and see what types of posts are already popular. Feel your audience there. Then you will be better equipped to create a popular post.
If the ultimate goal of your website is to sell a product or get followers on social networks, you must first develop the customer.
This will ensure that you are in touch with what your audience wants, which will save you a lot of time in the long run.
Post Only Excellent Content
Publish only your best content on Reddit!
Short and generic content will not work well. The vote will also be reduced and you will lose valuable reputation points (karma) that you have.
Post only detailed, exclusive, well written and useful content that helps people take action. Wherever you publish your article, Reddit users will click on it to view it. What they think (positive vote or negative vote) will dictate their results.
No Double Dipping
Don’t start being greedy with me now! 😉
I admit the great victory is addictive.
When you log into your analytics account and sees an increase in traffic and you realize, “Oh, yes, I published on Reddit, and it took me only 2 seconds!”
Usually, the next natural thought is “I should be doing this all the time!”
But this is where you can have problems. Stay away from “hot” areas. This means that if you just posted a link to a subreddit, let it rest for a while! Usually, I wait 2 weeks to a month before posting another link of mine on the same subreddit.
Have Fun
This is possibly the most important point on the list that impatient sellers ignore.
That’s why ‘the other guys’ are terrible for getting traffic on Reddit.
You need to be a normal Reddit user.
Remember, you cannot be a marketer, you need to be a Redditor.
Interact with the rest of the site. Build a post history that shows you are a normal user. Create your karma points by posting useful or fun comments on other posts.
Does this mean that you will have to spend hours and hours seemingly wasting time on the site?
No way!
Only about 10 minutes a week talking about your favorite topics or commenting on some of these fun GIF images. The interesting thing about Reddit users is that, in general, they are very passionate about the site.
If they think they smell like “marketer”, they analyze your post history and see if their post pattern confirms their suspicion. If you have a good amount of normal posts, you will prove that they are wrong!
Not to mention “having fun” on subreddits relevant to your niche, you’ll have an idea of what posts are popular there, so you can model them to create your own popular posts.
Following the above guidelines has allowed me to achieve these results on the website I am working on now.
Reddit never existed as a source of the traffic to this site before starting to apply these techniques.
Do you know what it took to get those 1104 clicks of Reddit? Please play the drums …
A total of 3 posts.
I will be modest and say it took me a minute to create each post. It is not a bad traffic ROI for only three minutes.
Here is a screenshot of Reddit traffic in my first week, helping to promote this site. This was from a single post.
Advanced steps:
Follow these steps and they will allow you to maintain a positive reputation on Reddit and maintain the previous results.
Address Community Concerns Before They Have Them
Steps 1 to 4 can take you far, but if you want to take it to the next level (of what I’m sure), you can’t stop there!
Address community concerns before they relate to step 4 of the list. If you post links to your site on Reddit, there will be many users who will try to find an excuse to reject your posts, inform moderators, speak ill of you, etc.
What you should do is convince them to the fullest and address all their concerns before they can speak.
I will show you how I did it by promoting my first Udemy course.
You can use text posts to help promote something. The idea is to provide value and explain yourself before asking users to access your site. You can be honest about the content that is yours, as long as it’s really useful.
Posting Udemy courses in the entrepreneur’s subreddit have been an important topic recently. Many users complain that people take terrible Udemy courses and send spam to the entrepreneur’s subreddit. There are some posts like this that are really valuable (like mine), but many users want to ban these types of topics and vote them violently.
Even in the midst of this problem, using this technique, I managed to attract zero negative comments and make the list controversial because many users voted positively, while others voted negatively. In the end, making the controversial list only brought me more traffic to my Udemy courses. More on that a little later.
Don’t Promote Too Much.
You may think that if you don’t promote your site repeatedly in the same Subreddit, it will be fine. But this is another great Reddit no-no.
moderators and Reddit users can see your activity throughout the site.
Not to mention that they have automatic spam filters.
If you post links to the same domain name too often, you run a huge risk. Reddit automatic spam filters will be blacklisted in your domain so that if ANY publishes, it will not be displayed.
They can also “ghost” your account, which is a special type of punishment for spammers. Being a ghost means that none of your posts appear to anyone but you. Therefore, you can publish as much as you want, but they will never appear to anyone else.
Do not abuse the system and you will be safe.
Share Your New Posts With Your Friends
Even if you don’t have a team, you must have a group of people or a network with which you can share your content. This step requires sending new Reddit posts to your friends (or Twitter followers), who are also Reddit users.
If they like what you published, they’ll give a positive vote, which will attract other Reddit users that will help your post to get very popular.
Every time I post something on Reddit, I immediately send it to some of my friends who are on Reddit.
Once voted, other editors knew it was worth checking the post.
Comment And Reply To All
The activity in your Reddit post generates more activity.
This means that when someone comments on your post, reply to the comment to double the comment count. When posts have many comments, more Redditors click on your post and join the conversation.
You can even be the first to comment on a published link. I have used this method before to explain the content I published and start the conversation. With the same previous post, I was very active in the comments, to add a lot of activity to the topic.
Be Humble
Most people consider the criticism in their post to be bad.
But you can use it as one of its biggest advantages.
Here how:
When you post and respond to comments, keep your tone humble.
Not only will this help you with the number 5 on the list (address community concerns before they have them), it will also help you improve the use of Reddit to drive traffic and customers to your site. When responding to comments, be sure to learn as much as possible from your commenters.
If you criticize, use your criticism to ask questions.
Declare that you actively follow the rules and intend to add value to the community.
The Reddit self-promotion guidelines state: “It’s okay to be a Redditor with a website, it’s not okay to be a website with a Reddit account.”
If you follow this checklist, you will follow the Reddit rules.
Remember this to the community and ask how you can contribute better to your content. You will be surprised how much the commentators will help you improve your content.
I practice this in all my posts, and it has allowed me to maintain a very positive reputation on Reddit, while I learn how to improve traffic orientation for my sites.
Advertise
If you have an offer that you really want to send a lot of traffic to, ADVERTISE!
Getting started with Reddit ads is super cheap ($ 5 minimum) and you can send targeted traffic directly to a $ 1 offer per 1,000 ad impressions.
The paid ads that I currently run receive 1% + click-through rates when everyone else averages 0.2%.
That’s 5X the average CTR of reddit ads!
Not only are click-through rates good, but traffic to my landing pages has turned between 20 and 25%.
I am still not testing this 100%, but I plan to create a guide on this very soon, after getting some solid results and continuing to adjust the process.
Conclusion
Don’t be a “Reddit Marketer! “
Be a Redditor.
Spend an additional 10 minutes a week to use the site as usual and familiarize yourself with the community.
Follow this guide and you will be on your way to becoming a prominent Reddit user. You will also be ready to attract thousands of visitors to your website upon demand.
I will participate in the comments, answer everyone’s comments and answer any questions. 🙂
